On 28 October, the Australian security industry gathered at the prestigious Park Hyatt Melbourne to celebrate the winners of the 2026 Australian Security Industry Awards. The event brought together leading professionals from across the sector to recognise outstanding achievements, innovation and contributions to the security industry.

Organised by the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL), the peak body representing security professionals nationwide, the awards ceremony brought together three distinguished programmes:

  • The 30th Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence
  • The 15th Australian Security Medals Awards
  • The 11th Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs)

Sponsored by Business Skills Viability, the Australian OSPAs recognised excellence across a range of categories, celebrating the individuals, teams and organisations making a difference throughout the security sector.

Professor Martin Gill, founder of the OSPAs, thanked the independent judges for reviewing and scoring the many nominations. He also acknowledged the supporting organisations and sponsors who share the awards’ aims and support their ethics, alongside ASIAL for its continued support of the awards.

Professor Gill also highlighted the introduction of two new categories for 2026: Outstanding Security Officer and Outstanding Security Sustainability Award. These additions provide further opportunities to recognise achievement across the Australian security sector and for winners to progress to the Global OSPA competition, showcasing Australian excellence on the international stage.
