Oct 23, 2023News

The security industry celebrated its night of nights with 270 guests attending a special dinner at the Park Hyatt Melbourne for the announcement of the 2023 Australian Security Industry Awards recipients.

Organised by the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL), the peak body for security professionals in Australia, the Australian Security Industry Awards featured three separate programs with a range of prestigious categories. The 27th Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence, the 12th Australian Security Medals Foundation Awards and the 8th Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs).

The 2023 Australia OSPAs winners are:

Outstanding Female Security Professional – Lacey Shields, NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

Outstanding Guarding Company – Certis Security Australia

“To be recognised in this way by our peers is an honour and a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of our colleagues across the business. Our team is truly living up to our Purpose, striving always to make our world safer, smarter and better. Business transformation may adversely affect an ill-prepared workforce, but we have made it our mission to ensure no one gets left behind.”

Scott Nelson, General Manager of Protective Services, Certis Security Australia

Outstanding In-house Security Manager/Director – Marie Patane, Sydney Metro

Outstanding Security Consultant – Intelligent Risks

Outstanding Security Partnership – Monash Health and Siemens

“The OSPAs are widely known for their prestige, and being named a finalist was a truly humbling experience. Winning the OSPA for Outstanding Security Partnership was both unexpected and a great honour.  Monash Health and Siemens have a proud working relationship that spans 15 years.  Siemens work very closely with both our systems team and the operational teams on site, so it’s a recognition of not just the relationship between us both, but the work both teams have done and how they interact.  Thank you to the OSPAs, to ASIAL for organising a great night and to the Headline sponsor Team Software for supporting this great event.”

Steve Bills, Director,  Monash Health Security and Emergency Management

Outstanding Security Team – Team Casuarina, Access Group Solutions

Outstanding Training Initiative – Queensland Rail
