Last week, the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) were held in collaboration with the Australian Security Industry Association Awards (ASIAL) and the Australian Security Medals Awards.

I was humbled to be named the Outstanding In-house Security Director of 2021.

The awards illustrated the outstanding contribution the security industry has provided in helping to keep our community safe during what has been a particularly challenging period.

Congratulations to all other award winners and thank you to Professor Martin Gill and his team at the OSPAs for making the awards possible and to Caroline Perryman and the team at Securecy for sponsoring this award.

A big shout out to my key stakeholders that have assisted throughout this period to ensure the AFL competition survived and thrived throughout 2020/21.  These included, State and Federal LEA, Government intelligence agencies, health departments, AFL partner stadiums and contracted security firms/personnel (just to name a few).

Lastly, thanks to the AFL for entrusting me with the role of building and establishing our security capability right back in 2015; and allowing me to lead and drive that department since that time.
